Salsa Cutthroat Recall: The bike manufacturer warns bicycle forks can break while riding. Some 2020 Salsa Cutthroat bikes have forks that ‘can crack or break, which could lead to a crash,’ according to the brand.
Salsa and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled about 600 Cutthroat bicycles, framesets, and aftermarket forks sold in the U.S., and another 100 in Canada.
The specific issue resides in the carbon fork, which Salsa says can crack or break while riding. The Minneapolis-based brand said it received seven reports of cracked forks, but no injuries have been reported.
2020 Salsa Cutthroat Recall
While the recall impacts a range of Cutthroat series complete bikes, framesets, and aftermarket forks, Salsa says only a “select production date range” of models are affected.
Specifically, only products with a fork that contain the letter “G” in the serial number are included in the recall. As the serial number is located on the steerer tube, the fork must be removed to view the serial number. Salsa also noted that affected models retailed at authorized dealers between September 2019 and September 2020.
If you purchased any of the following models, Salsa asks that you immediately stop riding and bring the bike into an authorized retailer for inspection.

If your bike is part of Salsa Cutthroat recall, Salsa will replace the fork at no charge.
