Clocks are set back and it’s time to replace your eTap AXS shifter battery. Trust me, you do not want to have it die on a hilly ride. This has been learned from experience.
SRAM AXS shifters use a common CR2032 battery secured by a simple battery cover, and it will last nearly two years of normal use. Let’s walk through checking the status and replacing the battery in a few easy steps.
The simplest way is to perform a shift and compare the LED light with the battery status chart to determine the approximate amount of life left in your shifter battery.
Watch this SRAM Tech video to see the full process of replacing an eTap AXS shifter battery. All you need for hydraulic brake systems are a coin to open the cover and a new battery.
