Sea Otter Play will feature an immersive online expo, ride challenges, and more. This spring, the organizers of the Sea Otter Classic postponed this year’s festival due to concerns arising from the Covid-19 pandemic. The event was rescheduled for this October. Yet as luck would have it, the festival had to be canceled in the interest of public health and safety. Sea Otter CEO, Frank Yohannan, officially announced the 2020 event was canceled on July 1.
In place of the in-person event, Sea Otter organizers have launched Sea Otter Play. This online event will take place from September 1 through 20 and feature virtual ride challenges, an immersive online expo, movie premiers, and the ability to give back to charitable organizations providing essential community support during these challenging times.
Registration for the Sea Otter Play Ride Challenges will open on August 14, 2020. The Challenges will kick off on September 1 and run through September 16. The Sea Otter Play Festival and Expo will be held September 17-20. The Sea Otter Play Expo is free to attend and will feature virtual booths from more than 300 cycling companies.
Participants who have registered for a race or ride, have camping reservations, or purchased passes to the 2020 Sea Otter Classic, will be emailed detailed information later this week.
